We created an Autism Youth Camp ages: 13 years old to adult, using the buddy system protocol. We looked at churches in our community with a ministry for youth with autism and we only found programs for young children with autism. When they turn 13, they age out. Many parents were turned away. God’s heart includes everyone in the body of Christ. We, at Surf City Church, see a need for the youth and young adults who have autism to have friends and have their spiritual needs met.
